Dear friends:

During this week and next week, from 23rd to 27th of March, our facilities will be open at morning, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The purpose is to finish the treatments started before the declaration of the state of alarm in the Spanish territory. Once current ongoing treatments completed, we’ll keep attending you by email and by phone, during the same opening hours.

  

Scientific Societies, both national (SEF-Spanish Fertility Society) and international (ESHRE-(European Society for Human Reproduction and Embriology), haven’t found scientific evidences to stop or not begin, at the moment, assisted reproduction treatments, because no vertical transmission of Coronavirus (from the mother to the fetus inside the uterus), has been observed. Also, there are no scientific evidences suggesting that pregnant woman has increased contagion probabilities or that, in case of pregnancy, the disease can have a worst evolution. 

However, the actual circumstances require coherence, commitment and responsibility for all of us, and we are convinced that the wisest thing to do in this moment is to reduce as much as possible contagion risk by limiting, as far as possible, your displacements as well as Crea’s workers ones. For this reason, the majority of medical centers for assisted reproduction in the country, we have decided not to start new fertility treatments, until it will be suggested by the sanitary situation.

In order to complete current ongoing treatments, we have undertaken some measures to reduce the risk of infection, as restricting the number of people having to attend the Clinic every day,  giving more separate patient’s appointments so that there isn’t more than one couple in the waiting hall, reducing even more waiting time, obligation of hand washing to everybody, postponing consultations of patients with symptoms characteristic of COVID19, as high temperature, cough, general malaise or shortness of breath. We are also maximizing even more the hygiene of our premises each time that we attend each and every one of you, attending you always with gloves and mask… etc.

Moreover, taking the advantage that at CREA we count on a very wide regular staff, we have set up two independent working teams. Two squadrons of brave people to attend you with the professionalism, humanity and proximity for which we have always distinguished ourselves. The squadron attending you on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays is called Victory Team whilst the one attending you on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays is called Achievement Team. We also count on a third squadron which is also fundamental, our Telecom Squadron, made up by professionals who are helping us from home to keep our care quality. 

Fate has led all of us, you and us, to have to deal with an unprecedented situation in the next weeks. Global pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus is affecting the way of life of all our families. Our hearts are first of all with all those who are directly or indirectly suffering the disease’s impact, wishing that everything will evolve in the most satisfactory way possible. We must not forget all those who have died and will die in this war against the virus, as well as we must not forget all those who are risking every day for our life to go on and for all of us to overcome this crossroads as soon as possible. 

We are aware that suspending of initiation of new treatments for a while is a delay in your project of becoming parents but we can guarantee that the wait will be worth it.
